Have you ever been surprised the first time you got an email from someone you have only spoken to face to face previously? The email doesn’t “look” like the person. The language is different and the formatting? It’s one long paragraph with odd indents in certain places. They are using slang and abbreviations we don’t understand. All of a sudden we have a totally different experience of this person. A carefully developed writing style makes a dramatic difference in the perception of our personal brand signature. The look, language and tone become consistent with the person we met. In fact, this person becomes so much more than we perceived of them in person. We connect with them at another level.
